The house

Simon Lundberg’s speakeasy became Simon’s Tavern on Clark in Andersonville. For decades the story was a woman caught in a love affair, tied to a previous owner’s family, who would not leave the mural alone. Travel + Leisure named it one of America’s most haunted bars. In 2018 owner Scott Martin told Block Club the version the house had been sitting on. Glögg in winter. A cash register that has seen a century of Swedes. The ghost is not a mascot. She is the reason people still ask about the painting.

A beer, a burger if they are plating, glögg when the weather is honest. Sit where you can see the mural. Andersonville does not need a ghost tour. It has Simon’s.
