The house
Before it was House of Blues, this Marina City room was tied to the Marina Cinemas, where manager Gloria Kirkpatrick was stabbed in 1972 by an assailant nobody saw clearly. Time Out still attaches her to the complex. The restaurant is Southern-leaning, public, and loud enough that a ghost has to work. Gospel brunch is the house ritual. You do not need a concert ticket to eat. You need a table.
Gospel brunch if you can get it. Otherwise a Southern plate before whatever is on the stage. The river is outside. Gloria is not on the menu.
