The house

The Horse has been a Fells Point saloon since 1775. Local lore says it was Edgar Allan Poe’s last stop before he was found dying in a tavern of another name, and the house is happy to let that story ride. The ghost the staff actually name is Seabiscuit: a presence that plays the piano, slides a glass, and has no interest in literary tourism. Waterfront bars collect the drowned, the drunk, and the people who missed their ship. This one is still a bar first. You can eat, you can drink, and you can decide whether Poe’s last night is history or branding. The piano does not care which you pick.

This is a saloon plate — something fried, something from the water, a beer that is not clever. Stay late enough for the piano. That is the whole visit.
