The house

The Golden Lamb has fed travelers since 1803. Charles Dickens slept here. So did a run of presidents. The spirit most often named is Sarah Stubbs, a little girl associated with the innkeeper’s family, seen in the upper halls and reported by staff who are otherwise uninterested in folklore. An older man in nineteenth-century clothes appears near the stairs. The dining rooms are Federal, warm, and busy enough that a haunting has to work to be noticed — which is why the consistent reports matter. This is not an attraction built around a ghost. It is an inn that happens to keep one.

Sauerbraten and fried chicken in a room that predates the state of Ohio. Stay for dessert. The house is gentler than Lemp, and the gravy is better.
