The house
Pere Marquette Lodge is a 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps timber lodge in the state park above Grafton, looking at the Illinois River. The dining room is famous for family-style fried chicken. Guests have reported a white figure in a bathroom; the lodge still hosts paranormal events. Troy Taylor’s dinner tours use this stretch of river. You can eat without a hunt. You should not skip the fireplace.
