Gold Star is a Division Street bar with a file the Chicago Bar Project keeps short: a would-be robber shot dead by the bartender in the entry. His spirit is the one people still mention at the door. Three ghosts get named depending on who is pouring. This is a dive, not a steakhouse. Come for a beer. The entry is part of the architecture.
A beer. Stand at the bar. The doorway is the whole story. Division does not need a host stand.
