Bluff City Grill sits on Broadway in downtown Alton, the river town that sells its dead honestly. Troy Taylor’s dinner-and-spirits buses still feed here before the River Road. The haunt is Alton: a street of pubs with resident ghosts, a Mineral Springs hotel up the hill, a limestone bluff that keeps weather and rumor. You can eat without the tour. You should not skip the town.
