The house
Journeyman’s American Factory occupies a Valparaiso mill campus that started as a woolen mill in the 1860s and spent a century making everything from blankets to windshield wipers before sitting vacant for thirty years. It is now 140,000 square feet of whiskey, beer, restaurants, and a garden. The haunt is the mill: a building that employed generations and did not empty cleanly. Franklin House, the 1857 tavern, is up Campbell Street. You can drink here without a ghost tour. The campus is the tour.
A Journeyman whiskey, then dinner at Union Hall if you are staying. Campbell Street now has two tables in this guide. Walk it.
