Moss Beach Distillery
The house
Built in 1927 as a rum-running roadhouse above the Pacific, the Distillery is haunted by the Blue Lady: a 1930s woman in a blue dress, usually told as a love affair that ended in her death on these rocks or this road. She appears in photographs no one posed, stands at the end of the bar, and moves glassware with a patience that suggests she still works here. The deck is the reason living people come — ocean, fog, sunset. The reports are consistent enough that the restaurant has not bothered to invent a more convenient ghost. She was already in the house.
Seafood, a cocktail, the deck if the wind allows. If you only came for the view you will still get the view. If you came for her, sit at the bar and keep a camera handy.
